Now used for houseboats and picturesque walks, canals were once a hotbed of industry and transport across Britain. The Canal Museum, on Bridge Road in Stoke Bruerne, charts the history of these inland waterways with boats, models and traditional crafts. The museum is open from 10am to 4pm - afterwards, take a free audio guide to hear the stories of the Grand Union Canal outside.
